Laundry, Shanghai Style

26 Sep

Where is Downy when you need it. Chinese lady just returned my laundry. It’s dry but oozes with the smell of grease. The smell counters my stature… Looks like I’ll be blending in just fine.

    I love your blogs!
Can’t wait to see how your Bhutan adventure pans out, as I’m going to try to go there after the Nepal build next April

Beats wet washed clothes and bib overalls in a tree! Blessings on you, Amanda, as you move on.

I bet you took out the dryer sheets that I packed between your clothes to keep them fresh?? Now would have been a good time to rub them all over you! Ha!
I just hope your jeans shrunk….I hate when they get stretchy and then I feel like I can eat more because they are falling off….later to realize I should not have eaten becasue then I can’t fit in them after they are washed. Ugh! Buy perfume! Ps, I saw Fannie today…she is back from Maine and is totally caught up on your blog. She is so cool!

This reminds me of the Italian laundromat experiences – and the underwear washing in the Pendini bidet!

    BDay Girl!!!!!

Oh I wonder WHAT you are up to on your b-day?!? Who knows! I hope you get cake! (at a minimum 🙂 Your blogs are so entertaining and man, it is hard to believe that you used to cry about writing assignments!! You are good, I mean rrreeeaally good! You need to do a book. With all these hilarious and interesting descriptions of your travels, it is a must!

It is hard to know what to comment on as there is so much good content! I am sharing many of your stories and comments with the docs on my sales calls–it is brightening up their days ( and giving me something besides treating diabetes to talk about !). A couple of them have claimed that they are going to check out your blog. I have sent it along to some friends of mine that I know will really dig it too—all cool with you, I assume!?

Love your dead on comments (you, the American being the only one “in charge”) and your changing thoughts and learnings and perspectives. It is all very good stuff! Of course, Amanda humor is the bestest part of your blog!!! blogs?

When do you go to Thailand? Another land of smiles, I have heard, and soooo beautiful! ( and cheap-yeah–massages here you come!) aaaahhhh sounds so very good. I so want to be Amanda for a week. Month! 7 months!!!!! Have you extended your travel time yet? I am certain you will!

Not much to report on out here on the Left Coast. The ocean was a warm 64 degrees this summer and the air was a high of 67 week after week…..been a real bummer. I went whale watching last week right here in Redondo Beach and saw many blue whales. They are all down here b/c the water is so cold. That was a little excitement for my routine life! I love you tons and can’t wait to read more and more and see your photos. Your photos are amazingly good!!! You really have an eye for taking good pictures.

I just had a vision: you are the next Samantha (but much more humorous and fun) on the travel channel. Man, then I willl be super jealous!!!!
Be safe and good and enjoy, enjoy. Know you are such a wonderfully crazy, unique gal who is missed!!! xoxooxo Kate
